While most dogs are content to lounge around the house and take things easy, their active side comes out whenever they have the opportunity to explore something new. Corgis are one of those dog breeds that love exploring new places and they never fail to mark their newly-discovered territories.
That’s why it’s not surprising that this Corgi behaved this way in this video. The male dog was out with his family on a beach holiday so explore he did.
The Corgi found the sand interesting so he started digging. He failed to notice another dog lurking in the vicinity.
The white dog must have thought that the Corgi was weird. That’s probably why he decided to check the Corgi out, which he’d later realize was the wrong move.
As soon as the white dog got too close, the Corgi started barking at him and chasing him away. Mind you, the intruding dog was much bigger than our toast-colored pet, but that didn’t matter.
The Corgi got territorial, and because he knew he had every right to do so, there was that extra shot of courage to his behavior. The Corgi was just doing his job and protecting his territory.
Luckily, no fight broke out and everybody went home safe and sound. You never can tell with dogs because the friendliest of them can have an aggressive side too.
So if you ever see a Corgi acting strangely, it’s best to tread slowly. Dogs, no matter how big or small they are, can surprise us with their actions.
This video is proof that we need to be careful when dealing with dogs, especially during first encounters. We can never tell what could happen.
Do you have a Corgi who behaves in the same manner? If so, kindly share some of your best practices in handling surprise situations like this!
