Since 2020, Gregory and Victoria Hudler, both veterans, had been looking for Jodie, their emotional support dog. The dog went missing after Victoria delivered her first child.
Victoria said that she and her husband agreed to entrust Jodie to a family member while she was in the hospital. The couple did not realize that this would result in Jodie going missing. According to Victoria, the family member allegedly sold the dog without their consent.
The incident left the two veterans crushed and anxious because they were unaware whether Jodie was in safe hands. Although sad, Gregory and Victoria clung to the hope that they would see the dog again. However, two years later, hope seemed elusive for the couple.
The veterans were ready to accept that they would no longer reunite with Jodie when they received a phone call one day. The informant, calling from a Tennessee shelter, told Gregory and Victoria that Jodie ended up in their shelter.
According to the caller, they learned the Hudler’s contact information through Jodie’s microchip. Upon learning this, the veterans became pleased that they would see their beloved emotional support dog again.
The couple sought the help of Wings of Rescue, an organization that flies pets from crowded shelters to safer places. Gregory and Victoria told Wings of Rescue what happened to their beloved dog. Fortunately, the organization was more than willing to help the couple.
The volunteers of the Wings of Rescue contacted the Tennessee shelter and informed them about their arrival to rescue Jodie. The organization shouldered all the expenses to transport Jodie from Tennessee back to her fur parents in New Jersey.
Gregory and Victoria waited patiently for the arrival of their beloved Jodie. As soon as the aircraft deplaned, the dog immediately recognized her fur parents and ran towards them.
