Some dogs inside an animal shelter are terrified of people and refuse to move when anyone is around. Those dogs need someone to show them that people are not a threat. Fortunately, many fearful dogs become more confident and outgoing once they meet the right person.
Poppy is a fearful pit bull that has been living in a Los Angeles animal shelter for a long time. No one bothered to adopt the dog because it didn’t know how to interact with people. Fortunately, a woman named Michele gave the dog a chance and became its foster parent.
Michele had difficulties interacting with Poppy when the dog started living with her. However, one day the dog approached Michele and rested its head on the woman’s lap. That interaction clearly showed that the pit bull was starting to trust her.
Poppy was afraid of wearing a leash, so Michele had to make the dog realize it was a harmless item. Eventually, Poppy became comfortable wearing it. After that, the dog became more excited to go on regular walks while wearing a leash.
Eventually, Michele had to say goodbye to Poppy since she had already done her job as a foster parent. Michele made sure to accompany Poppy when the dog met its new owners. It was a bittersweet moment that marked the start of Poppy’s new life.
Poppy’s new owner, Rylee, would occasionally send videos of Poppy to Michele. One time, she sent a video of her other dog, Oak, holding Poppy’s leash during a walk. It was a hilarious and adorable interaction that reassured Michele that Poppy was in good company.
Rylee is the perfect owner for Poppy. She always takes Poppy and Oak on different outdoor adventures. The three of them are always on the go, exploring nature and never having a dull moment.
