Numerous dog owners abandon their pets. Some of these animals are dumped in forests so they won’t be able to return home. Even though dogs are hardy creatures, some of the dogs abandoned in forests are still puppies that cannot defend themselves against predators and have no idea how to get food.
Willow, a little puppy, was seen living near a forest. She was seen wandering by the side of a gravel road, and locals would frequently bring her food. Willow was wary around humans and maintained her distance.
A woman named Elisa knew she had to save Willow after hearing about her. It was already winter and snow had started to fall.
Elisa was aware that Willow could not endure the cold weather alone. She had to act quickly to save Willow. However, Willow lacked the courage to approach Elisa. Whenever Elisa attempted to capture her, she would return to the forest and hide.
Elisa believed that if she visited Willow daily and left food for her, Willow would gradually become accustomed to her and allow her to approach. However, after several unsuccessful attempts, Elisa became frantic as more snow had started to fall. That is why she chose to use a trap, and thankfully, it was effective.
Willow was transported to the shelter after her capture. She was afraid of humans and did not know how to respond to being petted. However, when Elisa exposed Willow to other puppies, she adored them, and she quickly discovered that the humans in her environment posed no threat.
Willow was eventually adopted by a loving family after a few more weeks in the shelter.
Willow was rescued just in time because of Elisa’s perseverance. Nobody knows how Willow ended up living in the midst of the woods, but Elisa felt that her prior owner abandoned her there because they didn’t want her.
There are more canines in need like Willow. Thanks to individuals like Elisa, they have the opportunity to find permanent homes.
